Missing: Blogger of ShelfishlyAddicted

I fancy that's what the title might read, should someone write an article on my lack of posts on the blog the last half year or so. I hope it's something more attractively worded, though!

I have been reading, I promise! In fact, this university semester, I am taking a class called Nobel Prize Winners in Literature, which requires me to read books by such authors as Hemingway, Faulkner, Yeats, and Morrison. Unfortunately, I also have a ton of other reading that must be done for my other two classes, so these things take up a lot of my pleasure-reading time. When working at my desk at home, I often glance longingly at the books on my shelves, just waiting to be read and loved -- but then I remember that if I have time to read them, I have time to do my homework! At the same time, I've been trying to remind myself that taking time to read something just for me is also okay, and that I need a break from "real life" every once in a while.

In addition to university studies, the last several months have been busy in general. I went to India in April for my wedding (!!!), then my in-laws came to stay with us for 3 weeks, and then I had to plan a wedding reception for our U.S. family and friends. In between all of this, I've read several books, but just haven't had the time - or made the time if I'm being honest - to write the reviews.

I want to get back to posting regularly, and that means carving out time every week to sit down, write my posts, and schedule them to post. It also means finding the motivation to do so, especially when I've returned from the office and then from gym, and all I want to do is watch CNN or Luke Cage! I had even thought about switching exclusively to Instagram, and just having mini blog posts there, but there's just something about having my own exclusive place on the internet. No, I don't think I'll go. There are too many things I'd miss out on by not sharing with you!

I want to continue to post reviews, but I'd also like to liven the blog up a bit. Dear reader, if you have suggestions for what you'd like to see on blog, whether it's more interviews with fellow readers, publishers, agents, etc., or bookish discussions, or anything else please do let me know in the comments below.

Until then, please do look for some reviews on the blog in the very near future!
